Where we are

Gnomely is a moment delivery platform, currently in development and pre-launch. At this stage, gnomely.io is a waitlist site with one additional feature: the ability to submit a story for possible publication on our Stories page. There are still no user accounts and no database: submitted stories are sent to us by email and reviewed by hand before anything is published. This policy covers what happens when you join the waitlist or submit a story, and will be expanded once the full product launches.

Who we are

Gnomely is currently operated by its founder as an individual, ahead of formal company incorporation. For any privacy query, contact hello@gnomely.io.

What we collect

What we collect depends on how you use the site.

If you join the waitlist, we collect:

• Your email address
• Your explicit consent to be contacted, given via the checkbox on the waitlist form
• Basic technical data automatically generated by hosting and email delivery (such as IP address and timestamp), used only for security and delivery purposes

If you submit a story for possible publication, we collect:

• The story itself, its title, and the category you choose (Given, Received, or Witnessed)
• Your display name, unless you choose to submit anonymously
• The avatar you pick to accompany your story
• A link to your social profile, if you choose to include one
• Your email address, if you choose to include one (used only so we can reach you about your submission, for example if we'd like to feature it or if you ever want it taken down)
• Your explicit consent that the story is true, that you have the right to share it, and that you're happy for Gnomely to publish it, share it (including as a designed image) on Gnomely's own social media accounts, and lightly edit it, given via the checkboxes on the submission form

Beyond these two forms, we don't ask for your name, location, or any other personal details at this stage.

Why we collect it

Your waitlist email is used for one purpose: to let you know when Gnomely is ready to launch, and to share occasional updates about its progress. Nothing else.

A story submission is used to consider it for publication on our Stories page, and to contact you about it if needed (for example, to let you know it's been published, to ask a question before publishing, or to action a takedown request). If published, your story may also appear as a designed image, credited the same way as on the site, shared from Gnomely's own social media accounts or made available for others to download and share themselves. If you leave a social link, it's shown alongside your story if published, so readers can follow you.

Our legal basis

For the waitlist, we rely on your explicit consent, given when you tick the checkbox on the waitlist form.

For story submissions, we rely on your explicit consent, given when you tick the checkboxes confirming the story is true, that you have the right to share it, and that you're happy for us to publish it, share it as described above, and lightly edit it.

You can withdraw consent at any time. See "Your rights" below.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the waitlist, handle story submissions, and run the site itself:

• Supabase (database): stores your email address and waitlist confirmation status
• Resend (email delivery): sends your waitlist confirmation email, and delivers each story submission to our inbox by email; if you leave an email address on a story, Resend also handles any reply going back to you
• Vercel (hosting): serves the website, runs the waitlist and story submission functions, and may log basic technical data for security purposes
• Zoho Mail (business email): hosts our hello@gnomely.io inbox, so any email you send us, or any story you submit, is stored there
• TWIPLA (website analytics, cookie-free): collects anonymised, aggregated data about how visitors use the site so we can understand traffic.

We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone for advertising or marketing purposes beyond the waitlist itself.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address for as long as you remain subscribed to the waitlist, or until Gnomely launches and the waitlist is retired, whichever comes first. If you unsubscribe, your details are removed from our active mailing list.

Story submissions arrive in our hello@gnomely.io inbox (hosted by Zoho Mail, see above) and are kept there for as long as we need them to review and potentially publish your story, or until you ask us to delete them.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct it if it's inaccurate
• Ask us to delete it
• Withdraw your consent at any time: every email includes an unsubscribe link, or you can email us directly
• Ask for a copy of your data in a portable format

Cookies & analytics

The waitlist site doesn't use tracking or advertising cookies. All typefaces are hosted on our own servers, so no font-related requests are sent to Google or any other third party.

We use TWIPLA, a website analysis service that collects data traffic on our website and general information from website visitors. We collect statistics to improve the experience of our website visitors. We never use cookies for this purpose.

As a website operator that uses TWIPLA to measure reach, we may process information about the device you are using and its characteristics, information about technical features of the website visit, the number of page visits and statistically relevant behaviour of our visitors on the website, depending on the data protection level we have activated. The platform does not use the collected data to identify individual users or to match the data with additional information about an individual user.

Depending on the location from which you access our website, it is possible that TWIPLA will not collect any information about the device you are using due to our technical settings.

Children

Gnomely's waitlist isn't intended for anyone under 16. We don't knowingly collect data from children.

When Gnomely launches

Once the full product is live (with accounts, uploaded content, and location or time-triggered delivery), this policy will be updated to reflect exactly what's stored, how it's secured, and how long it's kept. We'll let you know when that happens.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of the page. Significant changes will be flagged to waitlist subscribers by email.
